Qualifying an additive manufacturing process for regulated aerospace applications can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Organizations must establish material specifications, process controls, documented traceability, and reliable performance before additively manufactured parts can be incorporated into qualification programs.
In this webinar, Stratasys experts will introduce the Advanced Industrial Solution, AIS™, a comprehensive solution designed to provide a clearer, more efficient path through this process. Learn how AIS combines high-performance FDM® materials, the Stratasys F900® printer, material and process specifications, a Process Control Document, onsite training, and supporting tools to help manufacturers establish process control and consistently produce high-quality parts.
The session will also explain how manufacturers can use publicly available material-property data developed in collaboration with the National Center for Advanced Materials Performance, or NCAMP, to support an equivalency approach without independently developing an entire allowables database. AIS supports ULTEM™ 9085 resin CG, Antero® 800NA, and Antero® 840CN03.
Throughout his 12 years at Stratasys, Charles has focused on the aerospace industry and driving the adoption of polymer additive manufacturing methods, mainly Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)/Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). Through partnerships with OEMs, tiered suppliers, and aerospace-adjacent technology enablers, he has helped to position Stratasys as a leading equipment manufacturer and material supplier for production-related applications, including tooling and flight components for aircraft and spacecraft.
As Director of the Advanced Materials and Processes and NCAMP, Royal Lovingfoss oversees a robust staff of research scientists, engineers, technicians and students working on a multi-million-dollar portfolio of proprietary industry, FAA and Department of Defense programs. including material allowable programs, ranging from thermoset composites to ceramics, metal and polymer additive manufactured materials. Lovingfoss is a chemist with more than twenty years of experience. He has worked in NIAR’s Advanced Materials Lab in various leadership roles since 2008. Prior to joining Wichita State, he held positions at Toray Composites America, Microsoft and Am Test Air-Quality. His instrument expertise includes ellipsometry, contact angle, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, MS-GC, AA, NMR, HPLC, x-ray fluorescence, DSC and particle sizing. He holds a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in mathematics from the University of Washington.
