The 2017 Speciality Equipment Market Association(SEMA) Show is kicking off next week in Las Vegas Nevada, and we are looking forward to attending and presenting at this annual trade show that brings the best and the brightest in the automotive industry together for education, exhibition, commerce and of course a whole lot of fun.

How does 3D printing play into this amazing event you might ask? Well, we do have some experience working with major auto manufacturers who are looking to optimise their factory floors by finding new and innovative ways to implement additive solutions to help optimise efficiency and impact the business bottom line, but we also work on a smaller scale, with pros who create beautiful customised automobiles, like our our friends at Kindigit Designs, who show us how they used 3D printing to customise one of their designs in the video below.

As we mentioned earlier, we are going to be in attendance at this year's SEMA Show in a variety of ways, both in the exhibition hall and sharing some educational insights with the attendees. Jim Vurpillat, Stratasys Marketing Director for Automotive and Aerospace will be presenting the session; Vehicle Technology: 3D Printing: Transforming Automotive Manufacturing - Now and in the Future. He will also be joined by Andrew Miller of Team Penske who will discuss how they are using the technology to win on the track. During the session you can expect to learn more about how leaders in the auto industry are capitalizing on 3D printing to address unique requirements for large, lightweight parts with repeatable mechanical properties. With technology specifically designed to change how parts are built, this session will reflect how next-generation manufacturing is happening now via 3D printing, and how it will continue to shape what’s next in the industry.

If you want to check out some of the items we will in the exhibitor hall, stop by the Central Hall, Racing Annex and Grand Lobby.  We'll be in booth 20571 with featured 3D printed models, like the mirror housing from Team Penske, a McLaren Honda steering wheel, and two fender flares and a window scoop from Roush, just to name a few.  Want to learn more about our latest automotive manufacturing innovations?
