GrabCAD Print 1.115 Release: New TrueVoxel™ Advanced Aesthetics Enhancements for TrueDent® Monolithic Digital Dentures

We’re excited to share the latest quarterly GrabCAD Print dental software release. GrabCAD Print 1.115 introduces new TrueVoxel™ enhancements designed to give dental labs more flexibility and control when applying automated aesthetic details to TrueDent® digital dentures.

This release includes three key TrueVoxel™ updates: support for bridged teeth, new incisal translucency levels, and a simplified repair and analysis step. Below, we’ll walk through what’s new and how each update can help streamline your dental production workflow.

TrueVoxel™ Support for Bridged Teeth

TrueVoxel™ advanced aesthetics now supports bridged teeth, allowing labs to apply cervical staining and incisal translucency to connected tooth structures.

This is especially helpful for labs using design software or a specific tooth library that exports teeth as connected or bridged geometries. With this update, those files can now benefit from TrueVoxel™ dental aesthetics enhancements without needing to design cases with separated teeth.

What labs can now do:

  • Automatically apply cervical staining to bridged teeth
  • Automatically apply incisal translucency to bridged teeth
  • Internal structures are not supported for bridged teeth in this release

New Incisal Translucency Levels

Labs can now choose from three incisal translucency levels: High, Medium, and Low. This update gives technicians more control over the final appearance while keeping the TrueVoxel™ dental aesthetics process simple and repeatable.

The “High” setting is the original TrueVoxel™ translucency level and remains the default. The new “Medium” and “Low” options provide more subtle aesthetic effects, giving labs greater flexibility when tailoring restorations to patient needs, lab preferences, and different tooth geometries. For example, lower translucency levels can help create a more natural appearance when working with thinner teeth or cases where a more opaque incisal effect is desired. These added options can also help labs better match the aesthetics often preferred for older patients, where lower translucency may support a more age-appropriate final restoration.

How to use this feature:

  • Select a TrueVoxel tooth shade
  • Select the desired incisal translucency level: High, Medium, or Low

One Step Repair & Analysis

Repair and analysis are now combined into one step, reducing preparation to a single click before applying automated dental aesthetic details using TrueVoxel.

Previously, users completed repair and analysis as separate steps. With GrabCAD Print dental software version 1.115, the process is more streamlined, reducing clicks and making the TrueVoxel dental aesthetics preparation experience more intuitive.

What this means for labs:

  • A simpler preparation flow
  • Fewer manual steps before applying aesthetics
  • A more efficient interface for TrueVoxel™ setup

This update is designed to make the experience cleaner and easier without changing the core output labs expect from TrueVoxel™.

Additional Performance Improvements

GrabCAD Print dental software version 1.115 also includes background performance improvements that are especially beneficial for users working with large print trays and large, high-resolution files. While these updates may not be noticeable in every day-to-day workflow, they help support a smoother, more reliable experience, especially when preparing larger or more complex dental jobs.
