The San Diego Airport Authority was looking for an art installment along their parking structure that would capture the culture and history of the City of San Diego and its contributions to air travel. Mark Reigelman, an established public and visual artist had a unique vision that fulfilled what they were looking for.
Mark’s idea was to display a combination of ancient hand weaving and advancements in aeronautical technology with models of three aircrafts: the Ryan NYP, the Convair 880 and the NF-106B. Stratasys Direct worked with Reigelman and art studio Demiurge to urethane cast the 900 detailed aircraft models.
