Summary:
Support the RedEye Business Unit in defining product and process quality levels to support customer requirements. Develop and execute quality plans for product conformity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Complete mechanical, functional, visual inspection per customer requirements and to demonstrate capability.
• Maintain detailed inspection records of test results, statistical data, and corrective actions. Prepare reports, statistical data as needed.
• Interpret blueprints, determine gauge methods, and judge acceptability of product.
• Provide input (to sales) for inspection criteria and methods to provide accurate quotes: using basic quality principles related to products (such as features, fitness-for-use, and freedom from defects).
• May serve as a customer liaison regarding quality issues
• Participate in final disposition of discrepant material.
• Monitor and evaluate the conformance of statistically controlled processes.
• Generate, update and maintain documentation relating to quality and process.
• Coordinate calibration with receiving inspection
• Select control charts that are appropriate for monitoring or analyzing a process.
• Determine machine capability in various situations, and describe its contribution to process capability.
• Determine sample size (e.g., AQL), selection method, and accept/reject criteria in various situations.
• Research and suggest appropriate inspection tools
• Determine which measurement instrument to use in various situations based on considerations such as the characteristic to be measured,, the required accuracy level, uncertainty, etc
• Determine the requirements for preserving the identity of a product and its origins if required by the customer. Give guidance on Certificates of compliance (COC) and analysis (COA )
• Execute and control corrective actions including interim action, permanent action, verification, etc.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and attends all safety trainings related to the position.
• Perform additional job-related responsibilities as scheduled or assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Associate or technical degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent; and 2-3 years of experience in Quality-related disciplines to ensure a complete understanding of protocols and procedures.
• Knowledge of and experience with formal documentation systems and methods, particularly ISO 9001: 2008.
• Hands on experience with a metrology background, ability to read and interpret blue prints with translation of GD&T; general knowledge of ASME Y14.5M.
• Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines and improvement tools, such as: root cause analysis, corrective action, standard improvement processes, statistical methods, lean manufacturing, etc.
• Must understand the various classifications of data and collection methods
• Must understand and distinguish between various sampling characteristics and methods
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency of the following (list not inclusive):
o Hand tools (calipers, micrometers, linear scales)
o Gages (pins, thread, custom gages)
o Optical tools (comparators, profiles, microscopes)
o Coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
o Weights, balances and scales
o Surface plate methods and equipment
o Surface analyzers (optical flats, roughness testers)
o Force measurement tools and angle measurement tools
o Gage maintenance, handling, and storage
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Manufacturing Engineering background
• Experience in a custom manufacturing environment consisting of machine shop/injection molding production.

• Work is typically performed in a temperature controlled, inside environment.
• Minimal physical requirements.
