Summary:
To create test plans and lead testing activities for large projects to assure that our new products meet our customers’ requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Creates test plans for major projects. Accurately predicts completion dates and resource needs.
• Leads testing activities for major projects and/or for a product line. Prioritizes testing projects to meet the needs of the team. Leads test technicians to efficiently complete tests and make improvements.
• Analyzes data and communicates test results and test status. Organizes test reports and data for easy retrieval. Writes clear, concise test reports that document test results. Creates test requests and documents test procedures.
• Resolves issues with tests, test equipment, and test data.
• Recommends and purchases new test equipment, including complex test systems. Stays up to date on new test equipment and analysis methods.
• Develops and improves complex tests. Assesses test error. Analyzes and improves tests.
• Makes sound recommendations based upon test results regarding how to improve design reliability and performance.
• Provides technical support to engineering groups.
• Maintains regular communication with responsible manager, design engineers, designers, and manufacturing engineers to create and sustain a good working relationship and enhance the quality and quantity of work performed.
• Keeps the manager and responsible engineer informed of important matters, including schedule, budget and performance.
• Consistently follows procedures for documentation and document storage.
• Develops and maintains a network of available resources throughout the company that facilitate completion of work assignments as expected.
• Participates actively in and seeks out various educational and training opportunities to keep current.

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus at least eight years' experience as a Test Engineer. A Master's degree in the appropriate discipline will qualify a candidate with less experience. MSME preferred.
• Ability to develop acceptable work-habits, skills, knowledge and contributions consistent with the Senior Engineer position and thereby creates a potential opportunity for advancement to the Project Engineer level.
• Demonstrates ability to work in an engineering team environment and clearly communicate technical status of assigned projects.
• Good working knowledge of data analysis tools
• Ability to lead test technicians
• Written and verbal communication is clear and concise.
• Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time.
• Experience designing major tests, leading technicians, and leading major test projects.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in test equipment and data acquisition and/or software testing.
• Broad knowledge of different types of test equipment.

• Work is typically performed in a temperature controlled, inside environment.

Summary:
The Sr. Test Technician independently performs a wide variety of tests as outlined by engineers, ensuring that all results are carefully documented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Efficiently performs hardware and software testing with minimal supervision or input from engineers or managers.
• Documents data in spreadsheets. Graphs results and performs advanced statistical calculations using Excel and Minitab. Documents test procedures, results, and conclusions clearly and concisely in test reports.
• Proactively communicates status and issues.
• Reports software issues to the Problem Log accurately and clearly so developers can quickly repeat the problem.
• Programs and sets up data acquisition equipment. Creates scripts for increased testing coverage. Uses CAD to create part files.
• Organizes, coordinates, and executes testing of products per engineering instructions. Leads other technicians to complete testing.
• Recommends test methods and parameters to maximize data accuracy, minimize test time, and meet customer needs.
• Trains other technicians and openly shares knowledge with others.
• Has significant depth of knowledge in at least one complex test area.
• Acts as a resource to other employees.
• Researches and selects new test equipment.. Creates new tests. Makes changes to the test plans and procedures.
• Makes recommendations on how to improve our testing and analysis capability.
• Makes creative and sound recommendations on how to improve testing and machine/software performance.
• Provides expert test and machine troubleshooting capabilities. Performs part building problem solving.
• Maintains a clean lab environment.
• Demonstrates continuous growth in his or her field of expertise. Keeps up to date on new test equipment and analysis techniques.

Essential Skills and Experience:
• High school education, 2-year Associate Degree in technical field or equivalent work experience, and 7 years experience in a technical position.
• Experience running software products for data acquisition and analysis. Experience with Excel and Word.
• Knowledge and understanding of test equipment and instruments used for hardware and software testing
• Clear and concise written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and independently
• Ability to multitask to keep multiple tests going at the same time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
• Lifting 25 lbs from 5.5 foot heights down to 2.5 ft surfaces.
• Bend to perform arm and hand work at 2 ft heights.
• Work with small tools on complex objects.
• Temperature hazard – working with arms and hands (gloved) in up to 550 degree F ovens.

Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Test Technician will perform routine tests as outlined by Test Engineers ensuring that all results are carefully recorded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Efficiently performs hardware and software tests to assess machine performance according to engineer’s instructions.
• Documents data in Excel spreadsheets. Graphs results in Excel and performs calculations in Excel. Clearly labels graphs and data tables, including units of measure. Perform basics statistical analysis of results. Documents test procedures and results clearly and concisely.
• Reports software issues to Problem Log accurately and clearly so developers can quickly repeat the problem.
• Proactively and clearly communicates status and issues during testing.
• Designs, builds, and sets up simple testing fixtures.
• Updates test procedures and test plans as needed.
• Operates rapid prototyping machines and other equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs machines.
• Trains other technicians on new test procedures.
• Maintains a clean lab environment.
• Demonstrates continuous growth in his or her field of expertise.

• Follows all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job position.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Two years experience in a technical position.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communications.
• Basic knowledge of computers. Experience with Excel and Word.
• Mechanical testing experience preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to multitask to keep multiple tests going at the same time.
